Description
After over 10 hours messing around in vue function editor and still not really understanding it that well I have enough of experimenting with rocks for a while so this is the best I can do for the moment .Rendered in vue 2014.5 at enhanced final quality render took 12 hours 37 mins I think displacement materials take a long time to render also it was using 31GB of RAM during the render !
Thanks for taking the time to have a look and comments .Visit my website at www.jantaramugs.co.uk where many of my images are available on phone and ipad cases

Wow...looks so real and could be a scene from around Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Maine....Looks so natural...5++

This is amazing, if I saw it anywhere else without your description I would have thought it was a Photograph. Excellent !

looks pretty good. Thanks ! My only note: could you try to make the rocks look wet (dark, shiny) for the first few meters above sea level? A new challenge :-)

WOW!!! Think the time you experimented in the Function Editor paid off, that is very close to the look I was trying to get. Well done!!! Nice work on the foam and splash too, were they done in Vue or were they post work?

Your fiddling and practicing is paying off. The rocks look really good. And yes, displacement can add to render time. A lot sometimes. Imagine a fairly detailed terrain, then displace that model and your adding all sorts of extra details on top of details. I've been working on the same idea, but using metablobs and the function editor instead of terrains. Very convincing image and everything looks great, water, rocks and atmosphere. I like the lighthouse too.

Great render very much worth the extra work and render time.
