Description
[Continues an intermittent series of renders loosely based on Stephen Hunt's Jackelian series of novels. Nothing is directly from the novels, but the images might evoke some characters and some events.]
The steamman and gentleman have stopped a passerby at the head of the pier to ask the location of their vessel and he points it out. "You can't mistake her good sir, right there."
For this images I was looking for atmosphere but I wanted the action to be clear, the interaction between the main subjects and the destination vessel. I darkened the sky a little to account for the gathering dusk, adjusted the foreground lighting and added lights, lighting, and figures to the vessel to make it the center of attention.
The steamman is built from the RDNA Steam armor, the Arcebus Torpedo, and Jonnte's Steampunk Protective Mask and Steampunk Hat. The rifle is Cybertenko's Lewis Rifle. The gentleman is SAV Lynn with the Regency outfit and Jai Hair from DAZ. The passerby is M4 in the Steampunk Cowboy outfit from DAZ, Jonnte's Steampunk Cap, a modified Southern Steam holster and my own Pepperbox pistol prop. The figures on the U-boat are V4 in the 1812 Seadog outfit and M43 cap and M4 in the Edwardian Casual Suit (DAZ). The conning tower lighting is provided by Cybertenko's Legendary Lanterns. There are several Songbird Remix cormorants and the CP otter in the scene. The gulls (Noggin's) are straight from one of the Jackelian novels. Zoe, the Millennium Cat, of course has followed the principal characters from the town above the docks.
The quay and pier are from Dark Anvil's Moorings. The dock lanterns are from Accessories for Tansy's Dock (Content Paradise). The water is from DAZ's Lake Village. The jetties and lighthouses in the background are modified from the Oceanfront Movie Set, the steamboat is Mike2010's Paddle Steamer, and the sailboat is the Smuggler's yacht from 1971s. The u-boat is my twin-hulled Privateer.
