Description

Captured 2/2/15, in front of a local church, on my way home from our Dollar Tree store. There is also a similar tree on the far side. Just to show that we no longer have winter seasons, new life, on the second day of February, was already sprouting from the limbs and branches of the tree, as if it were April. Incidentally, temps in the upper 80s and low 90s Fahrenheit are forecast here in about a week. Ciao.

Whoa!! This is a cool tree!!! You are correct, we no longer have a winter season in So Cal. Noticed yesterday that the Honey Bee's are out in force!

That's quite an ambitious tree, sprouting leaves and flowers already; although in our area there are many signs of spring happening too. I've seen daffodils and crocuses, and the hyacinths are budding. I discovered the pot of grape hyacinths that I only look at once a year is in full bloom, I nearly missed them this year! Weird weather, for sure. These shots are lovely, though, and you'll have to follow up with a view in the summer of this tree fully leafed out. Excellent work, Harry!

Interesting tree. Interesting to see it blooming already too. We've had winters like that at times, but certainly not this year. The tree in front of the house still has some fall leaves on it which seem to be refusing to let go. Even though we've had single digit temperatures and high winds, they're hanging on. After almost a month straight of snow, I wish we had a scene like that in the near future. At present pace, I'm thinking it will be July before spring arrives.

This has certainly been hacked away at over the years but makes an interesting shot. Well taken Rob

After the last tree shot that I commented on (a few images back), this one takes us right back into the city---the other one seemed out in the desert somewhere. Boy this presents a challenge---a bold muscular beautiful tree, with such a close building near it, with that beige wall and that high bell tower. You really had to work with this, I imagine, because of all the interference. But what you got was the beautiful tree "framed" by its surroundings, allowing the tree to billow up almost like flame, and touch the sky. (This is all in the 1st shot.) A very complex composition, in its angles and masses, I really like how you tackled this. The 2d shot gives a lot more space (on the right) which makes the tree seem more concentrated. It sets off the shadows too. I really like the tower soaring out of the shot, too. You made these into 2 geometric abstracts, with lots of contrast in hue, light and dark. In the second one, it almost looks like a sculpture. Fine work, Harry.
