Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very impressive capture of the bottles and details in the shadows Andrea. The packaging is very eye catching to say the least, with the bright red wound around the centre. Happy to hear you like this scent, enjoy !

First, when a manufacturer features their own product design inside another product design, that's really sneaky advertising! (Though the Classique design does have a flare.) Anyway, the flickr photo shows great understanding of bottle against box, and bottle next to bottle, as well as a wonderful background with sharp shadows and metallic hues. I have no idea how you create these backgrounds, but they're very effective with your bottles. This shot is an overview, bringing out the reds and showing it as a father-son combo, with a looming feeling, and long shadows, and a background which goes from horizontal to vertical with almost no visible 'break' between either. Very facile work, Andrea. (Facile as praise, not implying manipulative.) I've praised your bottle work many times, and said I'd love a book of them---a large book---(and pay a good price for them!), because they are such scintillating studies; and when taken as a whole, they're a universe of shape, light, form, etc; plus a visual dance on the whole phenomenon of perfume bottles---which is a category all unto itself. More beautiful bottle work from you. I love this series.
