Description

I find much peace in this river. The water coming from the dam is quite cold and supports a decent trout population. About 100 yards downstream, several fishermen are waded to mid stream among exposed rocks. Just out of view to the left are a man and woman fishing. The river was originally quite shallow and supported a booming mussel business, fished for mother of pearl and fresh water pearls. Now, when the lights flash and a siren sounds, fishermen to go to high ground because generators are running and water level will rise quickly. The state record brownie was caught near here in late 1980, 28 lbs of trout. That was quite large for a stream in Tennessee, USA. When I get to motivating better on a damaged foot, I hope to get the fly rod out and wade out there, too.
