Description

The male ostrich is warning us to keep our distance from the nesting female. Probably a good idea. The second of the guilty purchases is Ken Gilliland's Songbird Remix Ostrich found at Hivewire. It is a fabulous package with the different textures for the various breeds and the fact sheet about the bird. Very thorough and well thought out product, not to mention fun to play with. I scaled a couple of the Poser primitive balls for eggs and threw a torus textured with the ground to form a nest. The Serengeti Environment is a DAZ product.

Hmm... House Struthio of the southern island continent... Anyway, I sure wasn't expecting this scene. It gave me a chuckle and an idea.

Indeed, very wise to keep your distance from these guys. Some call the ostrich the closest thing to a living raptor you are ever likely to see without a time machine.

This is a great scene! I had to walk through bunch of Canada Geese today. One bird was staring at me menacingly, the mouth open in anger. Thankfully, not an ostrich!

Really superbly done, Terri! You did a great job on the ostrich and environment. Indeed - those are VERY big and powerful birds, and they've been known to rip predators wide open with those muscular legs and sharp talons.
