Description

Martin (groegnitram) is a very special soul who hasn't been on RR for a while. He's missed by those who know his supremely kind nature, and his exceptional and so very insightful art. I didn't think I was going to post this, because I know he's offline, and may not have wanted the 'fanfare'. But then I decided: No, I want to. For all those who know and love him, and for those who've never met him. Just to know the impact a wonderful artist and soul can have on those who were lucky to meet him. If you go to that link, you'll see one work...it's just a snippet of what he's done. He's made such exceptional drawings and paintings, both physical and digital; and he peers inside the heart and creates images of the most haunting beauty and delicacy, and sings mysteries we all feel, even if we can't name them. And he always creates with love. I can't imagine anyone who's known his work who wouldn't say it's "filled with love". Whenever he's returned, we all ran to his gallery to see his next creation; and his comments have been hugs and embraces. In short, he's a jewel. And that's why I decided to post this. So I post this to tell him, again, that he's a blessing to me and everyone who's known him; and that his work still glows inside us. My heart and gratitude and love goes with you, Martin: You helped me form my gallery, and helped give me the confidence to return to art after so many years. So let this crazy (here goes) "seed of coming spring, in the midst of winter's mystery" give you a taste of what you deserve. (Yeah, that's how I see this image, but you can see whatever you want in it!) It's your birthday in Chicago, still (even though it's not, in Deutschland), so Happy Birthday and many, many more, with huge hugs and gratitude. And I hope love and inspiration are with you always, and always, and always...mark

Fortunately you should be sitting down as you view my comment, yes it is me back here again my dear Mark. I don't get onto Rendo so much these days, been going through lots, the more recent stuff you saw on my page. Thanks for coming back to me in my hour of need so to speak, it has been a very sad time, and I am still going through it. I actually created that picture when my mother first became ill, so the way you describe it, yes it could have been developed due to the sombre mood I was in at the time. Just wanted to say thanks for your wonderful and detailed comment, it was so appreciated and thank you for your condolences my dear Mark. As for your wonderful fantasy abstract I love all the vibrant colours and am put in mind of my mother yet again because they are all the colours she loved so much. I find that your beautiful art cheers me up, it is loud and out there and saying to me enjoy these colours, life is good, it is ok to smile and have fun, just look at me. So that is how I viewed it Mark, and I am sure your friend will love it too, it is a wonderful dedication. Hope you are well, hugs Jane xx

And if art is invention and fantasy, ART is mainly Love and your words and image for Martin, Mark, are priceless! Both transmit the love, the intensity and meaning of his work and anybody could say this, better than you did... I see his art like a journey, where we can find the dream and the ‘reality of life, as it is. All this, through his joyful doodles and his serious stuff. His work is filled with humanism, deep concepts and as YOU very well said, his work glows and it is filled with love. I also am much grateful to Martin and i feel very lucky because i know him , he is a wonderful friend!! I also was one, that he incentivated with his words, that were always great compliments and that i never will forget. He always saw much more in my work, than i and always gave me confidence in everything that i did and i learned a lot with him. I agree fully with your words, Mark! They are filled with love as always you do! Your image is profound and has much to discover - i see mysterious caves surrounded of colors and light. The shapes swirl, they dance before my eyes with an incredible energy. There is music all around. BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for doing this wonderful image! It is the most beautiful gift and heartfelt dedication, from a great artist to another and I KNOW how much Martin will love this Happy Birthday dear Martin:) and may all your dreams come truth . I wish you the very best, much love and much health and great inspiration as ALWAYS. We miss you!

Mark, allow me to say that I was moved very much tonight to the point of almost needing to take a break. First of all this thoughtful dedication for you're friend is so well done and the beautiful work of art is something he will always treasure. The kind words you had for you're friend were moving and told what an impact his friendship has made on you over the years. The second thing that touched me was reading comments from Sis, and seeing that you were there for her in her hour of need. All I can say is bless you my brother, and I best go for now. Both of you are in my prayers and I'll answer your thoughtful letter this weekend.

I think Jane described your work perfectly, "abstract fantasy". I don't know Martin, but I know he will love this gift. You also have a very intimate way of talking about the people you know and allowing us to know them a bit better. And even more, you see into their work in a way most of us never can. At any rate, another great piece!

This is always such a heartwarming feeling, Mark, to come here, to your place, I can promise you. There are such wonderful memories coming up, always, let me think a moment, there are so many, and all of them are so inspirational, so filled with hope and that ... light. Warmth is another thought, there was and is so much of it, in so many ways and so many galleries, filled with so much love and life. This place is a lot about life, it tells stories, so incredible much of them, like a never ending large and wide river, every day anew. Some of the best memories I have belong to this place, Mark, it all started 13 years ago, quite a while, isn't it? And you are part of these memories, and certainly a very memorable one, yes you are, and don't you try to tell me something else. A place of freedom comes to my mind, just thinking, you know. A place where we can drop an idea, a feeling, a thought, and it doesn't matter when we do this, or how far away people are from each other, there is always another thought or feeling finding its way to you and your creation. This is quite something very remarkable, I think. And what have I seen in your image, you may ask?! It is no secret, I'll tell you some of it. Look at all these colours and how they move, I never stop to wonder how colours interact with each other, what they can express, with or without a concrete shape. They are pure, or at least that is my impression, they can tell a lot by just being, and they can tell whatever story we want, if we put our hands on them, using a brush, pencils, a painting program, or just by using our imagination. And there are quite a lot of colours in your painting, Mark, with that little light in the center. You dont miss to put in some darker areas, too, and certainly not only for reasons of a good balance. That light is what grabs my eye and attention, with those colours so close, in harmony with each other. The movement grabs my attention too, like tones, music comes to my mind, and music isn't quite a stranger to you, I know that. This is fascinating, music or musical tones and colours, moving to their very own nature. I have to stop rambling around, Mark, must be a side effect of the medication smile Now to you and your wonderful essay another smile. Thank you so very much would be an understatement, it certainly would be! Reading your thoughts made me think about some things in the past, and some in the here and now (that is always a gap to bridge, and often confusing). Such thoughtful words can only come from you, and of course, with time, and there has been some going by lately, years I mean. And in these years it has become quiet, now and then, surely it has, but it never became completely silent. That is something I treasure a lot, Mark, time brings so much appreciation, understanding and knowledge. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, Mark, for thinking of me on this day, thank you! Be well and happy, and take much care on your ways, have many creative thoughts, be crazy here and there, and enjoy some necessary normality too, lots of peace, love and light smile
