Description
Another exercise with the new Reality 4 fog tools. This picture is almost 100% pure Luxrender with no post work.
There is one curved light positioned outside of the window, parented to a standard DS camera so that I could refine the aim of the light. The curved light is the stock Reality 4 curved light with no changes.
The fog is from a cube, encompassing the interior of the scene, and set to a null material in Reality.
The fog itself is the interior volume, using the following recipe:
IOR: 1.0
Clarity: 1.0
Absorption Color: 029, 029, 029
Absorption Scale: 0.4
Scattered
Scattering Color: 221, 221, 221
Scattering Scale: 0.5
Red, Green, and Blue Direction: All 0
I rendered the fog image first, liked the general effect but a lot of the color detail was lost. So I rendered it a second time without the fog.
I took both images into Photoshop, layered the non-fog version over the fog version. Set the Opacity of the non-fog version to 10%. Saved as a JPG. No brushes, retouching, color modification or filters used.

Thank you for the compliments. I am just happy that I finally got a handle on the volumetric controls. That part was quite the hurdle.
