Description

Special Notes: For the followers of my stories in writers gallery. There is going to be a fundamental shift in the story from two directions. You've been waiting for Tarlock (Blaze) to make his appearance. I can't make him fit correctly into the story as you currently know him. The story has evolved too much. But, his base is still the same... sort of. You'll see. The second shift is... the southern hemisphere of Darai. We've been in the northern hemisphere of Darai so far. But, we have Demonian eggs coming and it's way too cold in the northern hemisphere for them... hence, the warm island continent of Struthio. Maybe I went over the top by giving them an aussie accent, we'll just see how it all evolves. Not sure about the aussie accent. Now here is the real twist. If you don't know what a Struthio is.... it is a bird. The most common being the Struthio Camelus... or better known as... the Ostrich. Now here is the twist, the Struthio is a flightless bird, and we know Daraians love to imitate their patron bird. Well, House Struthio considers themselves the only true Daraians. Daraians themselves are a flightless avian, and House Struthio believes in accepting the truth of what they are, a flightless avian. House Struthio doesn't wear wings and reveres the ostrich for truth, and just how tough a ground bird can be. House Struthio considers any Daraian that wears wings as silly children playing make-believe. (and yes, Zam is modeling for House Struthio today. Kinda... I know it looks like Zam, and Zam was the model idea for what House Struthio looks like, but the character in the photo is actually a brand new from scratch drawing.)

I like the addition of the Ostrich branch. They add a whole new aspect to the race. The illustration above is wonderful. This boy is more realistic and I like the sepia tones.

I thought it was Zam only older - go figure. Like the new idea. They are tough, fast, and protective. I like to think that they (ostrich) and the emu represent the evolution of the velociraptor.

Don't forget the most dangerous and protective bird on this planet is the cassowary, the male is a prime example of a tarloc, and the only one to still have a cask on their head like dinosaurs! The female is like the preistess', larger and more dominate than the male. Only have a small range in northern Australia so they don't work well with your story but I just like them! Almost extinct, only a couple thousand left! The image is wonderful, Zam or not it still conveys a strong independant spirit, like it!
