Description
Taken yesterday. These endangered creatures are part of a captive breeding at Melbourne Zoo that moves individuals around the world to retain genetic diversity. There are only a few hundred members left alive in the wild. Rothschild's giraffes mate at any time of the year and have a gestation period of 14 to 16 months, typically giving birth to a single calf.
