Description

So many excellent and exciting aircraft models have currently come on the scene with Neil's fabulous B-29 and totally mind blowing "Betty","Frank", and "Okha" and Pedro's beautiful "Peshka" (translated as "Pawn") that it's almost overwhelming. "Kid in a candy shoppe" I believe describes it perfectly. I am not complaining. I asked Pedro if he would find this an interesting aircraft to model back in October, I think, and he agreed. So seeing it roll off the assembly line was very exciting. It was totally worth the wait. You have to check it out. He did an amazing job on it. I have other renders in mind, but I posted this one because of the circumstances of the render. I wanted the "Peshka" flying over a wintry Russian forest, so I set up the basic scene, loading Pedro's Pe-2 and his equally excellent P-39, fiddled with the textures, prop blurs and crews, loaded a terrain into view, and picked an ecosystem. When the eco editor asked me if I wanted it to populate the scene I clicked yes. It loaded a whopping 20,194,269,467 polygons worth of shrubberies and trees! When I clicked render to see what would happen, Vue happily began to render the scene without a hiccup! To say the least, I had to pick my jaw off the floor. I decided that it must have "misread" the number of polys, so I adjusted the scene and scaled the trees up, clicked "populate" again and Vue did its job and this time it loaded 10,042,327,515 polygons worth of nature! So I decided to render and 6 hours later here it is. I am totally blown away. I could have used the brush and painted the forest eco where I wanted it in the scene instead of populating the whole terrain (which was rather large), but I was fascinated with the mind boggling number of polys that didn't melt my machine. Anyway, more info and renders on this famous Russian bomber coming up. Petlyakov Pe-2 "Peshka": Another excellent under-represented aircraft generously free on sharecg by Pedro Caparros. Pedro, my gratitude for tackling this aircraft at my request. Thank you. P-39 King Cobra: Also by Pedro and available at share Pilots: cobbled Epici low poly (maybe that's what saved my machine) enemy soldier available here on Rendo with adh3d's excellent flight gear also available here on Rendo. I like a lot. My models look much better in your renders it in mine. Be because I get nervous if Poser takes more than 20 or 30 minutes at rendering. It's amazing account of polygons. Thank you very much for your kind mention of my two planes. Just a correction, the fighter is a P-63 Kingcobra and not its predecessor P-39 Airacobra.
