Description
This is a current picture of... the first pond that my Aunt Nell had constructed on her property (about 1943), where I learned to swim at 4 years of age, where local churches held Sunday baptisms, where I fought a beaver for 3 years trying to keep a spillway open by the dam, where Canada geese came by the dozens at dark, honking in unison and gliding onto the spring fed water, then foraging through the vegetation. It has now become briars and underbrush, and at times a resting place for deer herds. The pond was drained about 10 years ago, in anticipation of building an ice skating rink. I was disappointed that I could not capture the previous "post" and hope that you find this relaxing. The other can be used to find some of the accidental "faces" created by Nature.
