Description
by D H Lawrence
I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.
One of my favourite captures from this winter.

I love these little fellas. Always so social, hardly ever just see one. Always talking to each other, telling the other guys where the food is, and looking out for each other - almost always take off in a group.

They can be very vocal! They also make a mess of the bird feeder, almost like they are scattering as much on the ground as possible for their friends! Lol I enjoy them a lot!

Beautiful photo. I suspect D.H. was right & I appreciate the poetic sentiment, but how would we ever know whether or not a bird or any wild thing felt sorry for itself?

I don't know they very well may be able too. It's the poem from the movie G.I Jane. My wife loves that show and the poem so I thought I would add it here.
