Description
Curtiss P-40N Kittyhawk IV. The Kittyhawk was the main fighter used by the Royal Australian Air Force in World War II, in greater numbers than the Spitfire.

Great photograph! I can envision John Wayne climbing into the cockpit to intercept a flight of "Betty" bombers as in the classic film "The Flying Tigers".
