Carol, this is a truly stunning work of art that is certain to brighten the day of anyone who has the pleasure of viewing it. You're attention to detail is second to none and I very much enjoyed the theme behind the image.

I can only do an image today, as I'm healing in my arm (the usual bi-monthly treatments, which get a little longer with age). I want to do several, but I'll do more next time...But this image is splendid, Carol. First, your text is quite elaborate, one of your longer ones in a long time. You find a lot of power in this grand bird, and you express it opulently. You've written of wonderful things to aspire to. And your image of it is awash in an ocean of flowing feathers, like flowing energy and light, which makes a big protective backdrop for the flamingo to spread out in front of. The word "flamingo" is related to the word "flame"; and this bird's torso is aflame. The detail of the feathers flows like a thick fiber blanket, and your very bold reddish-oranges morph, back there, with greens and light oranges and pinks, etc---beautiful color weaves. And on the bottom, there's a meeting of two "waves" of feathers, one moving to our right, the others moving down (or moving up, like flames). Down there, we're in the center of flames. And such clarity on the head! It has such a tactile feel, with an oil-like quality to the beak (I mean oil-paint-like). And it's bent over as if peering into a distant point that its pondering. And your background is like light reflected on gold-leaf, or in a gold-backed mirror. It's beautiful. You captured the power of your words in this. And your "crop"---forgive the photographic term---cuts off all but the area around the head and neck, bringing us into it very intensely. It's beautiful, Carol. One of your best bird pieces in recent memories, which is saying a lot, considering the many wonderful bird pieces you've done. And while this bird has balance, it is radiating with passion. A splendid piece. I'll be back for more soon...

It's that there are far fewer great artists who can both write and image accomplish such great art. Wonderful style.
