Description
The Webber-Bosserman-Scott House - constructed in 1874 for LD & Sarah Webber.
Webber was the president of a hardware store he established in the La Porte city in 1851. LD Webber died in 1895 and the home sold to the Bosserman Family. The Emmett Scott family moved from their home across the street (Emmett Scott House) and oversaw a remodeling project in 1928. (Emmett Hoyt Scott, Jr., son of the Emmett Hoyt Scott who was a railroadman, lumberman, manufacturer, former mayor of La Porte and orig owner of the famous Scott-Rumely House.)
Emmett Scott was the president of LaPorte Outing & Sulky Company which later became Kumfy-Kab Company, manufacturers of baby and doll vehicles. The antique wicker baby carriages they made seem to be of interest to those who collect such things.
