I've had the lyrics for Amorphis's Towards and Against going around in my head recently. As usual, this is nothing to do with the actual subject / context of the song, but there's one bit towards the end that keeps jumping into my head: 'And now I raise This flaming sword Towards darkness Against everyone.' So I've spent a while recently trying to make a pic that used that imagery. I've got about 7 aborted files, some of which I might work out into pictures later, but I eventually settled on this one last night, after several glasses of Lambrini. I added the claws at the bottom of the picture towards the end, and it's left me with the impression that although he's clearly a baddie, he's about to fight a horde of ickier things about to break into this world, which might make him some sort of hero...?
