Description
... where varied plants winter over during the cold months. On one occasion I reached into a sizable pot, grasped some dead leaves which had been a plant, and the earth began to churn around my hand... not prone to react quickly, I slowly removed my hand as a three foot long Black Racer (Coluber constrictor priapus), coiled around the warmed earth, exploded from the pot in which it was sunning... it's still around somewhere, keeping mice alert :)
