Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I like the lower display - the digifiddle free version - excellent clarity!

The flickr version is classic perfume photography, and the use of the cloth/blanket sets off the perfume bottles perfectly, all the cloth folds included. It also sets off the high sheen on the caps. But in the postworked version, you've turned the cloth into high-intensity chrome, which looks like someone ran strong currents through it, causing all those isobars to form and conduct heat. You put those patterns into the bottle too, making a whole undulating universe in there. And the boxes' blue (and their sheer surfaces) pacifies the intensity of it all. I esp like the way the bottoms of the boxes are swimming in those supernova hues, with the "eau de parfum" floating over them as if in mid air. Another terrific image to add to your bottle compendium. I'd love to see a gallery show of all of these, several roomfuls, and large size. (I zoomed of course, but larger and on a wall, they'd be eye popping.) This is a great series.
