Description

A view of Port Townsend, which is located at the northeastern tip of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. In the late 19th century & early 20th century, Port Townsend was expected to be a major seaport & many expensive & ornate Victorian homes were built there. Unfortunately, when the Great Depression hit, those plans fizzled. Today, Port Townsend is home to many retirees, has a thriving artistic community & has become a tourist destination. A photo of one of it's historic Victorian houses to follow next... Please zoom.
