Description

The old 1920s silent movie era theater in LaPorte was demolished in the 70s. High above the seats and screen, the walls were adorned with many ornate decorations including griffon statues such as this one which was restored several years ago and put on display at the local history museum. Photo was bad and griffon not very visible in places and background was horrible. Did a lot of post work tinkering trying to enhance details. Thanks for looking & commenting. Very nice. How did you make the texture and color?

Edited this some time ago so it's hard to remember exactly what I did... spent forever trying to carefully cut the statue out of the background of the photo because it was horrible. There were places, particularly parts of a wing and the tail, that there really was no clear distinction between the statue, its shadow, and the dark fuzzy blob of nothing that was most of the wall. Then did lots of messing around with just about every contrast, sharpness, and color enhancement filter I could find trying to bring out as much of the detail on the surface as possible. Most of the editing was done in gimp but also tinkered with it in a very old version of photoshop elements and perfect effects, maybe a few other things. Background texture came from in elements I think.
