Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

They are just waiting for Mark to blow out the candles before they break into cheers.

What a gorgeous Image: I absolutely love the various personalities...espcially the angry green one! He looks like someone I know, only with a healthier complexion. This is brilliant and there's so much to enjoy! Your doodles are second to none!

I love this series, I love your drawings, and I love that you posted this for my birthday. I love Mark's comment, too, that these people are waiting for me to blow out my candles. (They've been waiting a long time---it's 7 in the morning, the following day, in Chicago.) You know how much I love your caricatures and the personalities you portray, and the deft and humorous way you have of creating them. I love that there's one guy---far right---who's smiling, not caring about the glum people around him...also, you do terrific things with coloring when you color these...different textures, hues, some with lines some not; and a background with light blue 'marker' strokes (maybe brush patterns). It's another terrific group portrait from you, colored like a festival. And thank you so much for your wishes, which are greatly appreciated. The bits of me that have been behaving badly threw a party yesterday---without me---and downed 10 bottles of Tequila. Once we past 60, they figure we're too stodgy to catch them anyway, so they go out on their own. But thank you for your wishes, Andrea, I'm very grateful for my health when I look at many around me. A wonderful gift and wishes. Thank you, Andrea, it's greatly appreciated! And a wonderful spring your way!!!
