I was doing a little experimenting with figures to try and get a manga type of look from 3D without it looking so ... I don't know... 3D. So I thought I would try something a little different and switch to a greyscale image to see how things would look. I really would like to be able to minimize the 3D aspect of it while still hanging onto the detail of the image. What I've done here is purely a DAZ 3D render that I turned into a greyscale image. In Paint.net, I took the grescale image and copied the layer and did a a couple of artistic effects until I came up with this image. I think it captures the detail I wanted nicely while still giving it a bit more of a flat feel to it. I was going for something with a very Manga like feel to it, but not trying to reproduce Japanese culture with it. I did a somewhat color version of it as well which I will post later. I'm kind of curious what others think of the look.
