Description

Saturday was a beautiful day, with mild temperatures and light breezes. We took the Inspire and the Phantom out for a little exercise, and got some video and photos. I'm still getting used to this awesome bit of technology, and though the scenery isn't all that colorful yet, I'm still loving the ride. When I picked this location along the Blue River Trace Trail, I thought the rail bridge was no longer in use, after looking on Google Earth. But the tracks are well maintained and shiny which means they're active. I wish I could have captured a train from the air! :-D I've uploaded a compilation of my first 3 flights with the Inspire 1 at YT. I'll be posting shorter videos on Vimeo as well. Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! Thanks to you all, my latest page in the T.N.A. series has been in the Art Charts for the last few days! More T.N.A. coming soon!

That's probably it. I made 2 cakes (not from scratch! but still made a mess of bowls, measuring cups and spoons so that counts as baking, right? ;) and put them in the oven... still waiting for pizza ;) Excellent video!

This looks a great shot of the bridge and tracks Rod, yep they definitely look like they are still in use by the shine on those rails.

Incredible resolution and sharpness. I am very impressed by the overall clarity of this shot. These practice flights in the mundane season will pay off with faster orientation when things start leafing out. Just like you gotta go out and practice new photo skills on your home turf before you go on a long trip.

"X" marks the spot. Very cool photo! Qualifies as not only aerial photography, but as fine art as well.

Fantastic! Great POV and absolutely no distortion. I am jealous! You should take that thing to Beverly Hills ;) I'm sure you could get some interesting photos to sell. In fact, I wonder if any of the Paparazzi are using drones yet?!

Hmmmmmm - a sneak preview of Taylor Swift's new porn site, maybe?? LOL I'm sure the Paparazzi would love to use drones for snagging photos of celebs, but there's a little thing called the FAA that gets in the way.. :-D Probably a good thing considering the marginally legal methods some of them use... They would end up screwing things up for the rest of us...

That is one breathtaking shot! Beautiful lighting too - capturing the glint on the steel rails was perfection. You are mastering this vehicle very quickly. Here's to more great shots like this. But let's hope people don't chose to engage in a little target practice. Both human and avian predators that is.

This is a great capture and very clear as well.. Now, along with other comments Rod on here, here lies the problem.. Your great hobby, and this is a hobby, is going to get hi-jacked by the media and Amazon etc.. They will trash rules, butt into lives and generally cause mayhem and maybe even bring an aircraft down.. But until something BAD happens, Governments will do Sh** to stop or place rules there to stop them. Here, they have already flown one over Heathrow Airport!!!! Into Prisons etc.. The list goes on.. So, again, lovely picture, I do like it, but once an innocent hobby soon to be a real pain! Rob
