I've always just buried them, photographing them will give me a reason to honor them and not grieve for what my cat does to them (she is just a cat being a cat). Thank you. I had never realized that their facial feathers were so pin feathery. I love the gentle layers. The algal growth on the beak is fascinating. I have learned a lot from her passing. Thanks for sharing.

thank you guys and thank you especially brewgirl... I was not sure that I should post this. I felt really bad for the little thing - I fully understand the circle of life thing and cats are cruel - they just are. Honor, and grieve, and love the little birds, and love your cats too - though it is easier to love a dog with their silly grins and floppy ears.
