Description
Captured 3/18/15, 10:13 am, one block south of Katella Boulevard in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
A herbaceous plant with showy flowers, milky sap, and rounded seed capsules. Many poppies contain alkaloids and are a source of drugs such as morphine and codeine.

What a beautiful shot of these poppies; I can't be certain, but I think these are Iceland poppies. I love poppies so much, I just wish they lasted longer than they do. Great work!
