I'm skipping around because of the comment-box problem. (I found a trick: I open the zoomed view, I close out the upload view, then I open the upload AGAIN, and sually by the 4th try, I can comment...) Ok. (You know, I have that red Peterbilt Semi in my head, because I tried it numerous times with no success. But I've cleared my head of that stunning eye-popping red...) Beautiful how the shadows angle across the sidewalk and road, making counterpoint to the direction. And you have a big swath of light under the tree's shadow (at bottom)---very nice. And a clump of reds towards the back---2 posts and a hydrant, if I'm not mistaken. By including those, you added another dimension to the shot. As you did by including a good swath of the brick-walkway on the right. A fascinating combination, more of your abstract construction, which you get in a number of shots (the purple shopping cart shot was a prime example). And your normally high-tuned sense of composition allowed you to line up the street on the left with the top of the shot, and to balance it all with a nearly perpendicular line on the right. A long fine shadow shot, with all kinds of interesting city details throughout. You know, LA seems vast, in your shots, like it goes on forever. And, because of the hours you shoot, it often seems so peaceful! I know that changes by noon, but having been in your gallery this many years, I get the feeling of LA as one of the quietest, most laid back cities on earth! Don't laugh, lol, it really feels that way because of your early morning shooting. (By rush hour, I assume it's bustling as any other huge city.) Nevertheless, a peaceful-feeling sweep of a shot.

(in the first paragraph, "sually" should be "U-sually"---I didn't dare delete and redo, for fear I wouldn't be able to get the comment-box back!)
