Description

Happy Easter everyone. Yes, Veronica persuaded Betty to attend Easter services with her today. I suspect Veronica is Catholic but I really can't confirm it. I wonder if either of them gave up anything for Lent beyond milkshakes - snicker. I was hoping to have something different to present by this time. Alas, as always, my current project is turning out to be far more complicated than first expected. So as not to be a disappointment for the holiday, I found a not-yet-finished, never-will-be-truly-finished rendering and brought it up to date as it were. That is I added a few modernizing details and updated the lighting, texturing and rendering settings. In particular, rendering in Poser 10 over Poser 7. This piece I doodled together some time ago while I was still attempting to create a stained glass effect in Poser. I've long since defaulted to Vue when wanting to simulate such things. But even recently I still can not trick Poser into doing it. And I've gone as far as creating separate red, green and blue light renderings in an attempt to mix together the effect. Definitely no luck. It's like Smith Micro knew that I was coming and set up all these traps. In any case I hope you like it. Thank you all so much for visiting and for your continued support. And I hope everyone is having a happy and safe holiday this year. Sorry, no nudity. Or beaches and bikinis for that matter.

You did a fantastic job on this Easter presentation, Clayton. I've long been a fan of the way you bring Betty and Veronica to life in you're gallery.

A truly lovely picture. Did you tr IBL lighting at all?

Technically I did not use IBL though I have used IBL often in the past and like its effects. This was rendered in Poser 10 and I utilized the "indirect lighting" option in the (firefly) render settings. Using indirect lighting effectively negates any deployed IBL lights. At least that is what I have discovered. What I did do however is deploy a shadowless, blue tinted, infinite light aligned with the camera angle - directly in front. I also deployed another infinite yellowish light with 90% shadows for the sun. The sun was allowed to shine through a window opening in the church model in order to fall behind the characters. I also enabled volume lighting in the atmosphere (materials room) so that the sunlight would glow slightly in the background.

This has a really peaceful and calming feel to it - a wonderful, reflective work of art so fitting for the Holiday today. Beautiful work, my friend! I know what you mean about those projects becoming more complicated than you expect - happens to me all the time...... They seem to take on a life of their own... And that's not a bad thing... :-D
