BTW mate, my Aussie mate Peter calls these thongs not flip-flops, I thought that was general, looks like it is down to certain parts of Aus? He is from Adelaide.

We used to call them thongs when I was a kid; it wasn't until the underwear started being popular that it was changed to flip-flops (for the sound they make slapping your heels when you walk, I guess)
