This is a re-post from the very first page of my Gallery, for those unfamiliar, it is generally called 'Ghostography'. The idea is obvious, though not necessarily simple...to 're-take' an old photograph and combine the two. It is very satisfying when it works and frustrating when it doesn't...some very interesting pictures are impossible to 're-take' due to the passage of time. I have many great pictures of New Brighton, taken from the boardwalk of the pier or the top of New Brighton Tower...but as neither of these landmarks exist anymore....impossible, unless I can master levitation ( it's on my to-do list ). Still there are plenty that I can and have had success with and I lot more I have still to find out about...so this is to warn you ' they're coming'.... First time around the general feeling seems to have been a preference for the above style, with the original next to the Ghostograph, so I'll stick with that. The above images were re-taken after snow on a pretty grim, grey day...I plan to re-do these at some point to try for a little more colour contrast, in the mean time, I've plenty to make a start.....hope you enjoy the distraction and maybe have a go yourself....trust me, it's FUN!
