Description

Just a little sketch, made with the same fineliners (Stabilo) as those Andrea used the other day. I just cant make such beautiful stuff she does. But I had fun doing it. :) Thanks for viewing.

I'm only online for one comment (in each gallery) today, and I know you've posted a lot since I last commented...but I wanted to comment on this because I love it, and because I know it's a sketch and you think of it as "little". Well, it is 'little', but that's what sketches are, to me, and in zoom I really love the simplicity of it, and how much vitality and vibrance you put into it. I mean, it's simply a few farm houses, a few trees, a gentle sweeping ground, and sky, but it's a little confection and I love it. The composition widens and thickens towards the left, you have vivid hues in the houses, most of your lines are either one direction or simple cross-hatch and they're simple and expressive just as they are, and your shading is strong and contrasting. And your sky is a light "curtain" of dark and light blues crossed in a simple curtain. And a lot of white below that. To me, this is what artists have been doing for centuries in between their paintings and such---studies, simple explorations, etc. The key is what they put into them. To me, this is vibrant, lovely, un-cluttered, uncomplicated and a sweet, tasty snapshot of life. And I love the green ground against those reds and browns. I hope you continue doing these, they're little pastries. I'll be back for more, but for now, it's always wonderful to see your 2D work, and I'm so happy you posted this.
