Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Gorgeous close up although the way its naughty bits are displayed reminds me of a space alien about to devour me. The stained glass works beautifully although I would say it is more a mosaic.

This is the part of the tulip most people don't really see and it's always so gorgeous!! Mine have mostly come and gone; they surprise me every year since I forget where they are!!

I have one red tulip shown up in the front garden, a lone survivor from the raid by the squirrels, they eat then with a passion. My father planted those over a couple decades ago. So it is a special flower that I wont pick, thought about shooting it with atomized water drops, then though better of it.

Why did I push post button before finishing? Anyway in order to shoot it, I'd have to pick it and fetch it indoors, I can't get down on the ground anymore, because I shan't be able to get up again hehe!

Absolutely stunning, Andrea. Wow I love this shot and what you did to it. Superbly done. !! And, I could need longer and longer arms over time too. ;-)
