Description

Bryce7.1Pro/DazStudio/Sculptris/Photoshop Inspired by a recent whirlpool image by friend Gabriel Montagudo(Kanaa),here is my version.A large mesh was sculpted in Sculptris, imported into Bryce7.1Pro and then a custom foamy water material was applied. The ship is the Clyde Puffer from Daz3D,imported using DazStudio.A large sphere with a modified cloud volumetric material applied creates the spray. The custom sky was used as IBL to light the scene. In Photoshop I added more foam, waves and spray, smoke, seagulls( a brush set from Obsidian Dawn),hand-painted the crew members and added my signature. Thanks for taking a lok,and for any comments!

On my ancient machine it took 12 hours and change...that was after it crashed halfway through the first time!

Great work! Really scary picture too. Especially because it can really happen. Underwater sinkholes or volcanoes can cause events like this. Of course this would be a large and rare event.

That's not a very comfortable place for a boat. Looks natural, excellent work.

Not that is a true "Oh Crap" moment, if I have ever seen one. Great job on the whirlpool.

A small masterwork. Love how you approached this with the different applications and innovative techniques.
