For an instant I thought you were referring to King Tutankhamun, and when I went beyond the bot announcement and saw the image, I was startled and amazed (as is usually the case) with the incredible, delicate beauty on my screen. This is quite an inspiring piece of work; it looks drawn, and it makes me think of onion-skins, dried and brittle, with light shining through. Dried plant matter has such a wonderful way of interacting with light, becoming nearly invisible, but not quite. This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. It's such a wonderful challenge! This is inspiring work!

I echo the superlatives above, and I love chip's thoughts too. Denise does a number of flower and plant shots against a largely bright background (studio shots); and she gets all kinds of feelings in them, and she gets the intensity and intimacy you get here. In this shot, the attention to the wrinkles and lines of age are exquisite. And with the light on (and through) them, the lines seem ethereal. You've got strong dark outlines on the petals, so the light inside the petals stands out all the more. (Good contrast!) And you background isn't 'white' but a slightly---ever so slightly---warm gray. A gray with dabs of yellow or brown in it---very slight dabs: It gives a warmer feel than white would. And the centering of the flower, and its posture---opening up to the side rather than to us---makes it like a reflection (mental/emotional) and an artifact at the same time. It's beautiful and mysterious, and another pic that makes me rethink everything. It's a relic, it's alive, it's a study, it's a spirit. Exquisite once again, Nikolay.
