Description

"A cry from the oldest of the Dragon's ancestors echoes across an earth still being born. Its fiery origins provide the nourishment these creatures thrive on. When this world cools enough to support life as we know it, they will be long gone. The only hint of their existence will reside in the collective unconscious shared by the life that will one day inhabit this world." Almost every culture on earth has some form of mythology that includes Dragons. That thought sparked the idea behind this image, and its description. Update 05/21/2004: I made some changes to this one in preparation for an art show convention coming up this summer. My plan is to print this out on 13" x 30" canvas paper. I hope you like this version. Thanks for viewing! Credits: Millennium Dragon (DAZ)

I always love your work - and this is no exception. The compository is wonderful. Just one pick - a 'Wyvern' is a heraldric symbol and is characterised by having only two legs.

Thanks Lara! I was wondering when someone would bring up the 2-legged Wyvern myth. To tell you the truth, there are also older, lesser-known myths where Dragon and Wyvern are interchangeable names for the same creature. It wasnt until the later Middle Ages that the Wyvern really took on the 2-legged heraldric form its best known for today.

Interesting facts about dragons.. I love this image; the dragons are fabulous. What I'd really like is sound effects to go with this beauty! :-)

A great work my friend, the scope of space and colors are fantastic and that pose of the dragon on the foreground mountain is masterful. Cheers!
