Description

I was down by one of the local ponds today. There was a pair of nesting Swans on one. My dog, Jaffa was enjoying himself, swimming; when the male Swan, on patrol duty, comes charging in on Jaffa, (below out of picture, scrambling up the bank). I'd just sat down on a bench when I heard the beat of wings, and the splashing of webbed feet, so I just grabbed my camera and shot without even looking in the viewfinder and got this action shot - quite pleased.

If you had not told the story I would have thought he was admiring his image of the beautiful swan he can see in the water, well captured.

Great shot! I'm never that quick on the shutter. Glad your dog got away, those birds are formidable....modern-day dinosaurs, remember !
