Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Did you also notice that her shadow looks like a big rabbit with a long tail.

LOL! What a wonderful set of shots! And I love the little butt curls on her backside. Rosie is a marvelous addition to your little family!

She does look as if she is being shadowed by a large rabbit. A fun image.

Caught her in mid bounce, lol, and what perfect shadows on both images. :)

the tail has its own personal; shadow! a most important body part)))

Rosie must have a hitch in her step to have 3 feet off the ground at the same time - it is a cute capture - Rosie and her shadow!

Andrea, I was going chronologically from your most recent (at least at the time I started today) and back, but suddenly I'm skipping because I'm over an hour and I want to show my face in a few other galleries before I leave. So I fast-rewound to this pic, to get-in another of your wonderful dog shots. This is sparer than most of your dog shots, because it's just Rosie and all that gravel. With harsh unforgiving sunlight, making that deep shadow...I saw a documentary on dogs years back, that spoke of their gait; and it showed the many phases of a dog's walk; and there are moments when only one leg touches the ground. And you caught that here. It's fascinating, because Rosie looks so relaxed, and yet she's only touching the ground in one spot. A lovely shot, with a real dog pose, the in between moments of a dog's walk. And the long tail in the shadow is terrific---makes it look like a rat's tail. Btw, I saw the shot of the dogs on the paddle boards (from one of your comments), and it was amazing. Dogs are so accepting, I guess they can balance themselves on those boards. One would expect them to jump off and swim away; but I forget how adaptable they are. Thanks for the link. I've seen few humans do it, seeing dogs is something else...
