Nice work. Over here 'X' is used to mark out something we do not want. A subliminal message perhaps? Consider yourselves lucky. U.S. elections last two years or more.

I like this! The flickr version is more toned down, with clarified lines, borders, and a metallic effect (of electrical current discoloring the base metal). This is more awash, a rushed dream with a kind of angled wind-line running across it (that's wind as in blowing air, not as in to wind a clock); and the upper lines meet with flame-like blues right above the emblem. And Mark is right---our elections last 2 years, and are an abomination. I hope yours a much shorter. This has the feel of smooth gouache washes, rushed over a basic design, and the colors make fine contrasts to each other. An X has never looked so appealing.
