when this first went up, I think it went up twice---maybe it was another shot, but I remember this one. I thought "maybe he's doing a new kind of upload, a minimalist variation on a shot where he shows the shot, then shows a version of it, with some small details varied..." But when I went back to study it, the second one was gone. Ah well, it was an interesting thought. Anyway, this is awash in intense blues, and it harmonizes with the gentler 'aqua' blues of the sky above. The reds in the window also make a nice contrast. The shot shows its age and decay quite clearly. And the unexpected architectural layer at bottom---I assume a cornice for the building beneath the roof (some upper layer, at least)---gives a kind of musical 'bass line' to the whole. A layered 'sandwich' of a shot, with lots of detail even in the roof tiles. (Imagine the labor involved in making those roofs.) And topped off by a serene, nearly detail-less sky. Very attractive presentation of the hoopla and ceremony that attended windows. Fine and sensitive seeing, Claude.
