Description

Here in Michigan it's unusually warm for this time of year (I have a picture of what it was like 4 years ago today here: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2192648&user_id=482194&page=7&member&np) so I simply had to spend some time fooling around and giving the neighbors something to gawk at. Cars routinely slow way down as they pass when I do these things, I think they are trying to decide if I'm crazy, or maybe hoping to earn a belated admission to Hogwarts school of witchcraft. It's always fun doing these things, and a great way to get rid of stress, if you can believe that. As usual for these, no tricks, no strings, glue, alien anti-gravity, or whatever. It's all just gravity, balance, and friction. Thanks for taking a look, and I hope you're all having a good weekend!

Hogwarts!!! So, that's the answer.... Wingardium, Levioso!! I knew you had some special talent for these amazing stacks of rocks! :-D Seriously, this is a great shot of this stack, Mike! That top one balanced on the really small rock is truly a work of art! You must have tons of patience!

I can see how you'd draw attention: it takes skill and know-how to do this kind of really, super cool stuff and you do it quite well. This is impressive. I also suspect that there's a story in rock-working, somewhere and I'm a wee bit determined to find it. This is great. Of course, I think you'd do better on the island of Roke: they're a bit more selective than Hogwarts.
