Description

My mother died peacefully early yesterday morning after a long and wonderful life. She was a warm, loving, multitalented humanitarian who taught me that going the extra mile was not enough if you could go the extra three or five. She can never be replaced, but her memory will be cherished forever. Farewell Mom, rest in peace. You were beautiful to the very end.

Hello now you don't know me... I lost my Mum in 1984 it was an day I will always remember it still hurts I wish your Mother RIP For you years can come and go But yesterday will stay with you always May you find some peace in both your'e heart and mind...I never did

Craig, when I first saw the ebot for this, I thought it was a photograph of the flower, iris; but then, after seeing this very moving dedication, I realized it 'was' a photograph of an iris, a deep timeless precious human flower, and it's all the more moving because of it. I'm deeply sorry for your loss, it's a huge loss, it's truly and deeply huge; and from knowing what I know of you, I know your mother must have had deep light and humanity in her, because those qualities are in you, and she passed them to you as great blessings. The photos are beautiful, and you know, I can see you in her face, and hers in yours. She lives on in you. (They're really beautiful photos. Such light and kindness in her face, and thoughtfulness.) I'm terribly sorry for your loss, and I wish you a journey of communion---with her life and all her gifts---that light and love accompany you all the while, and that they be there to embrace you when---in the words of the poet (which I've quoted before)---you move "from mourning into morning"...A very moving dedication, and my deepest condolences and blessings to you in this time of deep and very moving loss.

This is a moving dedication and a wonderful memorial; the duo of images is fantastic as well--so full of personality, and no matter what, that's something that never goes away. I'm sorry for your loss, but happy for the good memories that remain, and all of the good things that you were taught. It's so heartening to know of someone who encouraged going more than ONE extra mile when it's just as necessary or advisable to go five! What a wonderful, affirming, and brave sentiment.

What terrific portraits, and a lovely tribute to your mother. Such a wonderfully open face, and a beautiful smile. I can see those qualities you describe ... her personality comes through. She looks like someone I would have enjoyed sitting and visiting with. It's good to have those rich and textured memories of someone who has been so important to you for so many years. You'll miss her forever, of course, but in a way she'll always be with you. I'll keep you in my heart and in my thoughts, my friend. Take good care ...
