Description
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
Lest we forget.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing in WW1 where so many lost their lives. April 25th is the national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, a day to celebrate the lives of fallen comrades. Lest we forget.

It's interesting to see how British folk remembers a lost battle 100 years ago. I would think that a nation will try to forget a lost battle and remember to battles they won. For this case internet is very interesting.

It isn't the battle that is commemorated but the sacrifice of the tens of thousands that gave their lives in service of their country, and it is not a British day it is a day when Australians and New Zealanders celebrate their men and women from all branches of the military and from all eras. The only involvement the British army had in the Gallipoli battle was in giving the order to land there, that lead to so many deaths.
