Description
"Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours... You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well." -- Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, 1st President of the Republic of Turkey, 1934

A very fine tribute to the fallen. And the words fit it so well. A lovely sentiment. Now, if we can only learn to love our fellow humans, maybe this madness will never occur again.

Soldiers are soldiers no matter which side, or which country. All are bound by duty, and all make the same sacrifices. May they all rest in peace.
Perhaps one day we will learn to LIVE in peace.
