Description
I haven't checked recently to see who has moved in, but wrens and chickadees seem to be ousting blue birds... anything that eats bugs is a friend here :)

Very nice shot. It's better not to disturb if some birds are in it. Thanks for your comment. The two images I put together in Photoshop CS5 (so called Photomerge).

Thank you for the information... all the birds are happy and safe, with new baby arrivals expected soon. Some people advocate discouraging certain birds from taking away blue bird houses, but I have found that simple boxes like these, fastened almost anywhere (I may have 8 or 10) can accommodate smaller birds, while blue birds prefer a more open and protected area placed about seven or eight feet from the earth. My yard has several mirrors, which keep young males active and hungry :) A problem unique to this area is black snakes, which I have seen crawl upward ( 7 meters) on the side of an oak tree, searching for nests and meals among the limbs of trees.. PhotoScape also has a "merge" feature, and a few I have blended well with the clone brush feature. I really enjoy your high quality photos, and miss some aspects of my old 35mm cameras with telephoto lens... c'est la vie ! best regards, Kenn

a very soft moody capture...the falling roots or branches make a kind of 'veil' in the shot, like a silken veil we can see through, to other worlds. The bird house is a nice 'center' to the image---grabbing that light on its white facade---and it's a nice balance to the darker shadowed sections. The shot feels protected, enclosed. Very nice...a nice relaxed introspective mood in it all...
