brilliant use of the top of the frame as the "anchor" of the entire image: You've anchored this image to the top, rather than to the bottom. The portrait pours down from the black hair and its shadow...and it becomes a full face. You show no eyes---just a nostril and lips: Once again, you've suggested a whole person with only a few gestures. (Her ear, for example, is just a splash of white inside all that black.) And, to balance out her imposing face and hair, you have a green circle---an almost Japanese sun or moon. And the green is fine contrast to the red lips. And, on the bottom, her hair flows down and tapers out, and her whole head is supported by two or three strands of hair. And her whole head floats in your pure white space... Beautifully balanced and articulated, with the "ground" on the top, and the atmosphere on the bottom. Very finely done, Yves.
