i heard the news yesterday from a fellow artist about a dear friend and wonderful artist who lost his long tough battle with cancer. ""i so hate cancer"", it takes so many innocent lives daily across the world. here below is the message i received. god bless you Lars, your now in heaven and pain free. you will be missed my friend. Dear Friends of Lars, Forgive the "mass letter," but there are many of you, and only one of me, so I have to do this 'all at once'... I have the very sad burden of telling you that our dear Lars (LBJ2) passed away a week ago. I just found out this morning, from one of Lars' Danish friends. He found out from Lars' landlord. He was buried yesterday---Thursday, April 30---in Gilleleje, Denmark. It's right near where he lived (Vejby, Denmark). He was buried in the town in which he grew up. He was 53 and a half, and that was way, way too early... I wish I had more details, but this is all I know right now. As I hear more, I'll tell all of you, or I'll post it in a dedi, which I hope to post this weekend. (I just need time to find the right words...) I know that many of you knew Lars much better than I, and I send you my deepest condolences. In the few years I got to know him, he stunned me with his incredibly kind and accepting nature, his endless gratitude for the smallest things in life, and how openly he faced his ordeal. I was stunned by his honesty about it, and how ne hever stopped showing love and kindness throughout. It's stunning to me that he was taken, and so young. And he was such an inspired artist. So humane, and so loving... I'll notify the Vue and Mixed Medium forums...If any of you think other galleries should know, please feel free to tell them. I'll also notify the site administrators, and hope they'll mention Lars on the front page. They did for Mina (nekhbetsun) and other wonderful members---they most certainly should for Lars. Finally, I'll be posting a dedi in the next few days, and I'll do a search every day to find any of yours; and I'll pay my respects.
