a beautiful mix of two sides of a soul...the woman's body appears to be all white, but her deep black hair and face are beautiful contrasts to the white. And one of her arms in black too. (The other arm is white.) And you've divided your image into black and red backgrounds: The black (on the right) seems to have a red under-painting, where you've brushed your black paint over it. (It has a nice diagonal texture to it.) The other side is a rich blue-tinted red. The contrast of red with black is beautiful. As always, you suggest the human form with a few very articulate strokes. Her hair is suggested with just a few white strokes, her face is suggested with two eyebrows and lips, and her hands are suggested with a few strokes of white or black. Part of this painting reminds me of Matisse's famous cutouts (gouaches découpés): Your art has that feeling. And I really like how much red you have on the bottom of the image---the image swims on top of that red. Beautiful work. And it's exciting to see you work with more reds and blacks, using white in smaller proportions. A very grace-filled and balanced fashion image, with real panache.
