Description

Terraworlds "No Landscape" contest - First place & MO award Pure terragen. This image was created with the help of a small but powerful self-written program. It has some kind of Lego editor where I could set my bricks. The program produces a 4097 fields large terrain and a very large texture automatically. The main problem was how to handle multicoloured bricks that lie on the top of each other. I had to make each brick smaller than the underlying one to solve this problem. So the whole terrain gets some pyramidal form, which you may possibly recognize at the tops of the chimneys. In Terragen I only had to load the terrain, put the texture over it and render it :) The shadow bugs are a pitty, but maybe if I render it at some higher resolution, they may be fixed. By the way, the terrain is exactly 48x48 centimeters large. Sweet, uh? ;)
