Même si le ciel semble un peu gris, le lieu est enchanteur.

The patterns in the rock bring the focus up to the lighthouse. A lovely POV! Les motifs de la roche mettre l'accent jusqu'au phare. Une belle POV!

Classic lighthouse + building architecture and splendid rocks! I though the rocks looked like schists or gneiss (looking very similar to rocks I've seen over in the Hebridean islands in Scotland-maybe they were similar rock systems before ocean-floor spreading ripped the continent apart?) so I looked it up: here' Wikipedia's brief summary so we can appreciate what we're seeing: Silurian Period sediments laid down 430 million years ago were metamorphosed underground into a gneiss 360-415 million years ago, and intruded by molten rock which cooled slowly, creating the park's exposed metamorphic gray rocks with dikes of harder, white igneous rock. [7] Underground heat and pressure tortured and folded the rock layers into the striking patterns that are now pounded and polished by the sea and rough weather. Cool!
