The Great Tits are doing well, and there appear to be six from the eight eggs
They have had a diet of predominately fat cake from my feeders.
The parents return repeatedly at certain periods of the day to this handy resource only a few seconds from the nestbox.

6 out of 8 and they're doing well! They're growing up fast! Typical. It's great to see them! I have to say that even though it's a bit crowded now, that nest still looks warm and comfy! I love this series.

That's a swift upbringing! Egg to flying in a couple of weeks! The pin feather coating is coming off fast.Great shot and series! I had thought the adults used the fat cake/balls to refuel themselves while searching for natural food for the chicks. I suppose if natural food isn't plentiful they feed the chicks whatever is available to close the constantly open gapes!

Nice to see so many have survived. I remember one year when a nest was raided and I believe all the hatchlings were lost. This is a wonderful series.
